October/16th/2006 : Cordélia.
Timeline - The Dark Rose's Last Kiss - Volume 6

Cordélia is the second bard i've created for my comic. She's got a particular yet beautiful voice she enhanced with small magic learning. She followed the path of Cédané a sorceress specialised in enchantments and illusions. With this small yet amazing knowledge she is capable with her voice of creating great confusion, or able to mesmerize anyone she wants for a little time. She's also able to force someone revealing secrets.

Cordélia is totally in love and obssessed with Lovejoy, my first bard. She's someone very protective and possessive, but her eagerness betrays somekind of little inner madness. In fact she's capable of hurting the people she loves.

Lovejoy (i should introduce him to you someday), disappeared for three years in order to learn the lore from the elder bards of his Elf community. He learned amazing powers and experienced so much thing, that his attitude changed highly. This was completly incomprehensible for Cordélia, and she became furiously jealous of the people who lived with Lovejoy for those three long years.

She waited for Lovejoy to sleep, and stepped into his mind with her powers to steal him all his memories. She couldn't stand that he wouldn't share his secrets and experience with her. When she stepped out, she realised that Lovejoy was awake and that he actully let her do this. His gaze was unbearable and she figured out how far and how mad and horrible she went. He left her without a word while she apologised, crying at him. She went on a long and somber depression, measuring her madness, thinking of how wrong she was, but the fact was unforgivable and she now had the same powers as Lovejoy.

She decided to chase him, to make him forgive her at any cost. When she found him, she received exactly the reaction she expected. Lovejoy welcomed her with a fierce song, and sent to her his entire arsenal of powers, thanks to his voice and instruments. She was highly injured, but stood up to show him that she could endure thousand wounds in order to have him back. Lovejoy walked away, and Cordélia followed him like a shadow, pledging and apologising, telling him that her love didn't stop to grow.

And then what do you think happened ?

Cordélia's name was inspired to me by the play "King Lear" by Shakespeare. I really love this name.
